ILP Status - Change ILP status with one click
complete

Teachers are able to create ILP's for the class with one click, but when they want to skip or take the ILP off of the students instructional path it must be done per student (multiple clicks). This has been a issue in Humble and I can see it being an issue in Arkansas for those that are receiving instruction from a CW assessment until the ACT Inspire integration if ready. Teachers love how they can create per Domain as a class, but when they integrate their ACT data they will also want to change the status of ILP's as a class.

I think the Progression now solves this issue.

I would like to come back to this topic again. There is a district (and I believe there have been others) where someone from the district assigned the incorrect assessment. Students took the assessment and ILPs were generated. The district was not happy with the person who did this but they were also unhappy there was not an easy way to turn off the ILP. I was wondering if just as we will have a way to turn off all IRA/CAM/Science after it is assigned (with the click of a button), if this ability might be used for ILP.

After speaking with Mollie yesterday, this functionality is more important than ever. We are hearing from campus principals and lead teachers that teachers want to know why they cannot generate a new ILP for the updated STAR data, NWEA data, or winter CW assessments. We are letting them know that teachers must either inactive or change all of the no's to yes, when generating new ILPs, and schools are asking if there isn't an easier way.

Why the concern about disabling? Kids may have more than one ILP?

Melissa Cook: (Debra, tell me if I am off base) We played around with some different scenarios. When a user wants to generate an ILP and they get the Yes/No screen they don't have access to the scores to know if the student scored above their last administration - which would result in a new path in that domain- or the same - to get the same path. It offers the same choice no matter what the score in the domain, although the score would definitely matter in the user's decision to create another ILP. BUT if the ILPs could be turned on/off then it may not be as big a deal OR the scores could be available on the Yes/No screen when deciding about creating the next ILP.

After training in AR with Kim for the last two days and creating ILPs from CW data, teachers are already asking what they need to do with the current ILP when they generate from ACT Aspire. A teacher will need to go student by student to inactivate and while for some teachers that may not be too many, for Middle School or High School teachers that will be over 100 students. This is very important if we want students to really focus on what they need to work on at a given time.

I agree Debra. Teachers need a quick way to make the ILP inactive.
