ILP Reports- Selected Students

Currently, when a staff member created a report from the ILP tab, their choices are Selected and Individual. Individual is pretty self-explanatory, but Selected is less clear. In running each of the instruction and assessment reports, I noticed that they all have one thing in common. They group the results by grade, whether it is students or overall. I am not sure of the best suggestion, as each of the reports does the selected process a bit differently, but I wonder if something like "Group By Grade" would be a bit clearer for the person running the report. I would love to hear other suggestions.

No, we can't change it again -- but we can make what actually happens more clear. As Debra said -- they are all showing data by grade. So the option is view by grade -- or individual students.

While I know that some reports group by grade not all of them do. The one that pops in my head is CW Assessment Reports; they are grouping by assessment level, not by student grade. Would the user understand that we are grouping kids by assessment level, not by the student's grade level?
Our new IL instructional report scheduled for November release is not grouped by grade at all and would not fit the "View by Grade."
Selected Students are the students that were selected from the IL main screen. If Selected Students is unclear, I recommend brainstorm more to try to find another descriptor that helps the user connect what you did from the previous screen (IL Main Tab) is the number of kids selected you are about to run a report.

Jerry Henley: I will do just that- I assume that for all ILP reports, it will have to be the same choice for each report (i.e. selected students or individual students)? Meaning that the program will not allow for different choices based on the report being run?

So are you thinking that maybe if you have an entire grade selected from the initial screen, the options wold say something like
-Selected "Entire Grade Level"
-Group by Class
-Individual Student
And if the entire school was the initial group:
-Selected "Entire SMith Middle School"
-Group by Grade
-Group by Class
-Individual Students

Those are some good ideas- I am not sure how difficult it is to create the options. I know that we can choose a number of filters to run the report, I just feel the issue is with the word selected. If I have selected all 6th graders then it makes me think I am getting results for all 6th graders not having them grouped as one result. The report itself is fine, it is the terminology. I do though like having choices like you listed especially "Group by ....."
